Hedgehog Ville is a licensed, small, and selective pedigreed hedgehog breeder based in Newmarket, Ontario, proudly serving Toronto, the GTA, and clients across Canada.
Since 2008, we have been dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized hedgehogs with a strong focus on ethical breeding practices.
Each hedgehog is carefully bred and raised in a clean, controlled environment, with daily handling to ensure they develop gentle, confident temperaments.
As a small breeder, we intentionally keep our program selective with bloodlines from Canada, USA & Europe. This allows us to prioritize the health, genetics, and overall well-being of every hedgehog we raise — never quantity over quality.
We are strongly against backyard breeding and believe that responsible breeding requires knowledge, patience, and genuine care. Our goal is not just to provide hedgehogs, but to ensure each one is placed in a safe, informed, and loving home.
Timeline:
2008 – started breeding African Pygmy Hedgehogs.
2020 – FIRST Breeder to successfully produce litters of Lesser Hedgehog Tenrecs in Canada.
2022 – FIRST Breeder to successfully produce a litter of Desert Hedgehogs in North America.
2022 – FIRST Breeder to successfully produce a litter of Greater Hedgehog Tenrecs in Canada.
